Easter Photos start as early as March 1, 2015!

Spring is just around the corner.  I know that you are as excited as I am!  As much as I love snow, I'm just about ready for spring.

Last week, I came across these in my side yard!  I was so excited!

These are hyacinths and daffodils!  I can't wait to see them again this spring!  I did check today, while I was shoveling, and yup, they are still doing well.

See what else is making it's appearance this coming week!

These little guys are so cute and fuzzy!

They aren't real!

They are perfectly perfect for your child to play with.  Your child's eyes will shine with pleasure as he or she plays with these chicks and bunnies while being photographed.

Call for your reservation, today!  240-436-2169.

Spring-time Tulips

One of the things that I really love about living on the east coast (and although my heart stayed in Alaska, I do find things here to love), is the spring-time flowers.  It seems like there is something popping up every single day!

Today, as I came to my studio, in one of the little beds, I came across this:

I was on the phone (safely with a bluetooth) with my friend, and I gasped, and said, I have to take pictures of these gorgeous tulips!

When I grabbed my camera, I said, I'm changing lenses, I really want macro images.

There was radio silence as I knelt.  Finally, I said, "Oh, I want to get these back-lit, I'll have to squeeze in behind the bushes!"

I'm pretty sure that I looked HILARIOUS stooping in between the bushes while I photographed these tulips.

I will do what it takes to get the shot, even if it means I have to sit in damp mulch.  That's with tulips, children, dogs, families, and whatever else my clients might send my way to photograph!

Here's my favorite image!

I hope you have a splendid week.  Keep your eyes open, because you never know what you might come across!

Spring and Easter Portraits with Baby Animals

Spring has sprung at Honey Bee Photography!

We have baby bunnies and chicks bouncing around the studio, nibbling on carrots and feed.

OK, maybe not really, but  don't they look like they are about to jump in on the fun?

These animals aren't real!

Did you know that photographers who use live animals for props this time of year need to have a licensed handler from the SPCA to ensure that no animal gets injured or hurt, or hurts a human?  Safety is the number one prerogative in my studio.

That's why I invested in these gorgeous life-like stuffed animals.  They look so real and they are very lovely and touchable.  For those concerned, yes, the bunnies are made with real fur, but they were used first for meat, and then for taxidermy purposes.  I made sure of that when I invested in these guys.

Please visit my Living Social deal and save!  This is the only place where you can get this fabulous price and there are only 12 Chicks 'n' Bunnies sessions left.

Spring Photos are officially being done at Honey Bee Photography!

It's the first Saturday of spring and signs of it are everywhere.  I've seen robins and heard woodpeckers, and all kinds of chirping out there.  There's more, too...

We are officially celebrating spring here in Bowie with our Chicks 'n' Bunnies sessions, perfect for Easter gifts and cards.  These images are beautiful, simple, and allow your child to explore these little guys and gals without worry.  I know it sounds crazy, but it's true:  These are not real animals!

Every time I show folks the images from these sessions, they just can't believe they are not real!

Here's the story.  Many years ago, when we were in Alaska, I asked around and found a young lady who was raising bunnies.  We worked out a reasonable deal and her mom brought her over, and she was my official bunny wrangler.  We spent more time trying to get the bunny to stay in her cozy basket, she loved to hop!  At one point, she pooped during a session and made the little girl cry.  It was too much, and of course we laugh about it now....

I knew I needed another solution.  And I found these wonderful stuffed animals!

Yes, they are made with real fur.  Yes, they were originally raised for their meat; their fur is an added bonus.  The bunnies are made with bunny fur and goat fur.  The chicks are made with synthetic materials.  They are very light and realistic looking.

Now I can also have the chicks, too.  My favorite is the one leaning down to eat.

Oh, and there's me!  This is how this year's set looks.  I have a couple of other items to add.

Want to book a session with me?  Simply call me at 240-245-0416 or contact me through the website!

Thanks for stopping by.

It's March! Spring is just around the corner!

Can you believe it's March already?  Spring is just around the corner and it's time to get out in the yard and spruce everything up! Barnyard babies are being born and new life is being celebrated with oohs and ahhs.  Delight appears in every corner of the yard and garden while bushes and trees begin to bud.  It's a time of renewal and rejuvenation.  I love that about March.

Spring Portraits are on everyone's mind these days!  With that, I have a fantastic Spring Special that is perfect for your children.  March 22-April 5 is time for Chicks 'n' Bunnies.  Your children will be delighted to play in my studio with realistic chicks and bunnies while I photograph them in a 20 minute session.  You'll get to see your images right away to make your order.  For more details, please click here.

As you can see, I've changed my logo for HBP.  I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.  You are welcome to comment below.  That's just one of many things that I've spruced up for this year.  I've created a brand new Pricing Guide, and have produced four levels of service from which to choose.  You could say that I've been bitten by the Spring Cleaning bug.  Or bee. You know what I mean.

Speaking of Spring Cleaning, here is a GREAT site that shares wonderful tips for deep-cleaning your kitchen.  Having a well-organized kitchen that is easy to keep clean is such a time saver. I thought that I knew about a bunch of tips, but some of these are ones of which I never knew.  If you are overwhelmed by the thought of doing that much cleaning, call my friend Eddie from Lila Sparkle, LLC.  His website is here.  Eddie and his staff are friendly, prompt and fantastic at what they do! Your home will sparkle!

In this newsletter, you'll see a great article about my friend, Jodi Schulman, Massage Therapist, whom I like to think of as a Massage Artist.  She owns Galaxy Massage, where your massage is "out of this world".  Here is an article about her, complete with photographs of her giving a massage.  She does a fantastic job, and her clients leave with such a relaxed demeanor.  One of her clients recently commented, "Jodi's touch is firm and warm.  Touch is very important to me, and I felt really warm and relaxed after my massage."  What a great testimonial!
