We are working with Bowie CLAW once again to bring you photographs that capture your sweet fur baby’s personality just in time for Valentine’s Day!

For those of you with fur babies, this is an opportunity to show off your “sweet baby gurl” or “good boi”, get adorable photographs done, and create something really special for cards that you send out, or share on social media! 

Now, if you love those kisses, we’ve got fun up our sleeve!  It’s a kissing booth set, just for your fur baby, to show off his or her chonky self, and if we can get a tongue out, or better yet, a little drool… you’ll know that your sweetie knows exactly what to do!  Imagine adorable cards that you send out to friends and family, or get allll the likes on Facebook and other social media platforms…  your sweet kitty or pup will be the talk of your circle of loved ones!

We have a few surprises, too, but we can’t say what it is right now!  Just know that we’ve added to our set, and we’re looking forward to giving you that WOW experience with it.

Here’s what you’ll receive for your $20 donation:  a phone call to discover your dog’s personality so we can choose what you might want to bring to make your photographs really special; a 10 minute session that is sure to ensue hilarity; and a lightly retouched digital file that is perfect for social media, cards, and small, sentimental gifts.  You’ll receive your digital file by Feb 1.  For an additional $10, you’ll receive a 4x6 print of the matching digital file, and $5 will go to Bowie CLAW.

Print packages from this will also be available at volume pricing, starting at $49.00.  10% of the proceeds will go back to Bowie CLAW.  This is a huge opportunity to help a wonderful cause, and have beautiful photographs that you can enjoy all year long, as they aren’t too “festive”.  We’ll do a couple with the kissing booth, and then a few others that will make you swoon.  You’ll receive your prints directly from the printhouse by Feb 5.  We also have a couple of digital packages for sale, which will be ready for you by Feb 1.

This event will be held at Calvert Brewing Company, located at 15850 Commerce Ct, UM.  They offer lots of delicious brews, and there’s a food truck there every Saturday.

Do you celebrate the change of seasons and harvest with a pagan tradition?  This is the session for you.  This Is Me sessions help women to reconnect, and rediscover things about themselves that daily life has kept them from with education, career, and family.  In this, we'll explore what you love about Samhain and how it relates to your experiences.  

As this is a Special Event Date, our sessions are :45 minutes long, and will be in studio for convenience.  Basic props will be available, and we'll discuss what to wear, and what you'd love to bring with you.

If you are looking for a session that is outside and more organic, we can do a full experience with hair, makeup, and 100% bespoke to you.

Our Magic of Fall sessions are fun, festive, and family friendly!  (Did you see what I did there? So fabulous!)

10/17 Headshot Day at Pongo’s Learning Lab

When you look at your headshot, do you have to kind of squint a little because it was done 10 years ago, and it doesn't quite look like you, anymore?  Or is it one that was "free" by your HR department manager, because she has a camera?  Or finally, is it a selfie in the driver's seat of your car?

 We're teaming up with Adam Santavicca of CBay Advisory, who gives a monthly presentation to the Crofton Chamber of Commerce members on better ways to grow their businesses.  As the Chamber's office is two doors down from Pongo's, it's very convenient to have a no-stress headshot session done, and then get to do some networking with lunch and learn something new.  

If you get your head shot done in the morning, you'll be able to network and head over to the chamber, for the 11:30 am presentation.  If you come for the 11:30 presentation first, you'll just head over to Pongo's, where we'll be, and do your headshot then.  It's a total win-win situation.

Adam and I are providing lunch, so you'll be able to nibble and enjoy your time together with new networking friends.

Your head shot experience includes a phone consultation to talk about how you want your audience to see you in your most authentic light, your 15 minute session with me, then you get to sit with my assistant to go over your favorites, and purchase them.  I'll retouch them lightly, and get them to you within a week.  All of this, PLUS 2 of your favorite photographs, for only $150 (a $200 value).  Each additional photograph is $100.

Thanksgiving is a time for families to gather, and with our global living these days, sometimes a family can only get together for a couple of days during that one crucial week.  The experts don't say that Thanksgiving week is the most highly traveled week out of the year for nothing!

This year, we are offering something so incredibly special for these families, and there's SO MUCH VALUE, that we just can't fit it all on here.  Please note that we are very limited on the number of families we can work with, as these sessions do take time, and you'll be able to see your photographs projected on the wall right after your session.  Your family members will receive the full experience, to help you all rediscover what you love about each other, and reconnect with each other, because let's face it.... some siblings are more excited than others to have family photographs taken.  We're able to get everyone on board and excited to do family photographs.

Rescue My Heart: A call out to all who own rescue pets (5 minute read)

Calling all Rescues:  Cats, Dogs, Horses, Bunnies, Birds, and Reptiles

There are so many kinds of rescue stories:  Foster Failures, Shelter Adoptions, Found in the Street, Rehoming, Appeared out of Thin Air, etc.  There are as many variations on these stories as there are animals! 

Every time I hear a story, which is always touching, about how a human’s life has been touched by a rescue pet, my mind goes directly to the following question:

Indeed.

Those who share their stories about how they fell in love with their rescues, often end up saying a similar statement:  “I don’t know if I really rescued my dog; I think she rescued me!”

I want to celebrate that and create awareness that rescues are wonderful creatures, and make wonderful family members.   

That’s why I’m working with Rude Ranch Animal Rescue and The Spay Spa and Neuter Nook.  These two organizations believe deeply in the joy of rescue and have made it their life mission to help these creatures.  Kathy and Bob Rude own and run both of these organizations, and you can find out more about them at www.ruderanch.org and www.spayspa.org.

Together, we have the goal of raising $10,000 to provide well-deserving families assistance in spaying and neutering their pets.  Our fundraiser has two parts to it, and both are celebratory in nature and fun!

Part one:  The LUXURY Photography Experience.

Interested families who love their rescues can purchase a $400 gift certificate for ONLY $50.  A whopping $40 of that goes to Rude Ranch/Spay Spa in their name.  Each family receives a full experience, which means that we get to find out exactly what you love about your rescue, how having them in your life has brought joy, and of course, we get to know all of your family members, too.

Then the day of your session arrives, which is fun for everyone!  Since we’ve planned your session, we photograph exactly what you want for your artwork.  Your session is guaranteed, so you know that I’ll help you prepare for every detail, and I’ll work hard with you to ensure that we get it all.

Soon after, we roll out the red carpet and show you your photographs with a cinematic presentation, and you get to design your artwork AND order at that time.  We can do it about 1.5 hours after your session, or if it’s better, we get together within a few days to have a party and ooh and ahh and shed some tears of joy.  I guarantee you’ll love your photographs, so do be prepared!  We accept all standard forms of payment; diamond earrings, pints of blood, and arms & legs are also acceptable. (not really! Lol) (Note:  a prosthetic leg costs about $22,000.... so you know you won't be spending that much on artwork!)

Within just a couple of weeks, the VERY best part happens:  The Unveiling of Your Artwork!  I deliver your artwork to you and together, we relive the beautiful experience that started at the very first phone call!  I can help you install them, but with our two largest collections, I have a professional come to install your artwork, while we watch and enjoy.

Doesn’t a LUXURY Photography Experience sound like something you would cherish?  All of that, plus $200 goes towards your purchase of your artwork.  AND, if you schedule your session Monday-Thursday, you’ll get your entire $400 deducted from your artwork purchase.

Part Two:  The Celebration

Once we have finished with all of the families, we’ll be compiling all of the stories and a matching photograph into a GORGEOUS coffee table book!  Each family gets their own page, with a story of how their rescue enriches their lives.  Our goal is 100 families and their rescues; it’ll be a big book!  Proceeds from the sale of these books will go towards Rude Ranch and Spay Spa.

As you know, we are celebrating rescues and their families… so what better way to release this book than to have a celebratory dinner, complete with a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle?  All proceeds go to Rude Ranch and Spay Spa.

Bowie Memorial Day Parade on 5/24/14

Everyone LOVES a parade!  I still get excited when I see parades.  So much excitement, so many happy people, so much fun!

In case you missed it, here is a synopsis of the morning:  It was awesome!  There were several dance troupes, a drum and bugle corps, a Scottish bagpipe group, the Shriners, a martial arts studio, and much much more!

In case you participated, and you didn't get to see the other groups, well, here you go!  You guys all looked so GOOD!  It was pretty warm yesterday, but you didn't falter.

To the gentlemen at the grandstand, you did a great job announcing all of the participants.  I'm so grateful for your service and it was great to see you three.

To those who have lost loved ones because they died while in service to their country:  thank you for loving that person so much that they wanted to serve our great country.  That means so much.

To those who have died for our country:   I'm so appreciative of your love for our country.  Freedom isn't free, and you knew that when you signed that line when you entered into the United States military.  You were taking a risk that you could beat the bad guys and protect Americans, east to west, from the North Slope of Alaska to the Key West in Florida.  Thank you for taking that risk, for without you and your love for our country, who knows what we would have now?  I shudder to think.

It goes without saying that I would rather that none of you had gone too early.  I also know that we each have a calling in life, and sometimes that calling is to make the ultimate sacrifice.  One person, by sacrificing himself, can save 20, and it is not for any glory, but for the selfless thought the others must be safe to keep on fighting the good fight.  That is honor, and love for fellow man.  I thank you for your bravery and love.
